week 4- Different between HHD&SSD


With the development of the technology, people are more concerned about the speed of the computer, especially the software startup speed while opening. It is to the test for speed of input and viewing to the computer.  As the SDD gradually becomes mainstream, compared with the old HDD, what are the advantages of SSD, how to choose SSD and HDD?

Before comparison, let us use a simple method to distinguish the difference between HDD and SSD. HDD (Hard Disk Drive), uses hard disk as the main storage device. The advantage of using HDD is that it can have a large capacity. Compared with SSD, the price is lower and it can provide users with more storage space. SSD (Solid State Drive) is a storage device composed of many NAND Flash, the price will naturally be more expensive, and the storage capacity provided will be relatively small.

The reason that there are many notebooks or high-performance computers use SSD as the main storage device because of that is fast.  Compared with HDD, the read speed of SSD will be at least 3-5 times faster than traditional HDD. The most common SSD read speed is about 400MB/s. Compared with the speed of HDD 140MB/s, the products are competely different and that can make the overall system experience better and more effective.

The anti-seismic capability of SSD is much stronger than HDD.  The HDD has a high-speed magnetic head because it is very sensitive to slight vibration. Especially when used in a relatively vibration environment, it may cause to read poorly or damage the storage efficiency of the hard disk. The SSD uses a chip storage solution by the storage space composed of many NAND Flash does not need a motor and a magnetic head to run, so the overall shock resistance is strong. Even in a vibrating environment, it will not be easily damaged.

As a result, the advantages of SSD are more better than HDD. With the advent of Windows 10, we understand the advantage of SSD, especially when starting the computer, the feeling of fastness is indescribable. With the popularization of the market, SSD will replace HDD and become the mainstream of the market.

Week2-How does a computer contribute in my personal daily routines as a student.

    With the development of technologic, computer become common in this modern living .In my personal life as a student , I usually use computer just for doing assignments and notes. At the other time, I almost using smartphone. The app that I always used to do my note is Microsoft One note. There are many functions and easy to operate and it can also be used in sync with the phone. So that I can read my note when I’ m not at home. Moreover, computer brings me more convenient while doing research. It allows to open many website in a time and this cannot be done with the phone. I can also obtained the information through online quickly. Since I just got in touch with the computer, I’ m still self-learning to create my computer for more value in my daily routines.
